Didwana Ganigan: There was no tent to pitch, no cooking utensils to get out and no bags or sleeping gear to unravel.

I know it sounds strange, but I really have a thing for accents. I've swooned over Armenians, Israelis, Haitians, Russians, Kenyans, British Trinidadians, you name it. Something about that wellintentioned broken English that just makes me want to take you home and feed you. Maybe it's the oldworld manners and respect for women. Maybe it's the nuanced view of world politics that comes from living abroad. Maybe it's the fact I come from an immigrant family and, although I grew up here, I never really developed an interest American men. Who knows? All I know is, the next time I am in Clarkston and a hairy Bosnian with a bashful smile struggles to ask me for directions, I am baking him a pie. I am totally serious.
